Lake Placid Fly Guys

Don't forget to get your tickets for the Fly FIshing Film Tour on March 13th at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Doors open at 6pm show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $12.00 in advance or 15.00 at the door. It is sure to be a great time and all proceeds will benefit thr Tri Lakes Chapter of Trout Unlimited. The days are getting longer but local conditions remain wintery. Here is a pic of the start of the No KIll strectch of the Ausable. BTW that white thing in the bottom of the picture is the river. Its open for fishing year round but you're going to need A LOT of weight to get it down.

Steelhead Fly Tying Class

For those of you interested in tying flies for steelhead sign up for our upcoming class "Tying Flies for Steelhead" with tyer Matt DeLorenzo. Matt is a member of the Nymph Heads pro staff and an avid steelhead angler. Fly patterns in this class will cover a wide variety of pattern types from weighted and unweighted nymphs and streamers, tube flies and even dries. The class will take place at the shop on Wednesday February 17th at 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Hey everyone, lets not forget about the seminar on Friday the 12th of February with Tom Minehan "Swinging Flies for Salmon and Steelhead." We are getting a lot of interest in the seminar and it will be well worth your time especially those of you interested in getting involved for the first time in either steelhead and salmon or swinging flies for them. Great New Product

Stop by the shop and check out this great new product from West Water. A miniature version of the thingamabobber these little guys are getting rave reviews from fisherman everywhere. They work great on terrestrial patterns and are being used very creatively on other flies as well. Send us your own photo of flies tied with this great new product.

"Swinging flies for salmon and steelhead: Slides will be used to discuss techniques, tackle, fly selection, water conditions and spey and switch rods.
